The Chair Centre has been operating for over 15 years in the office furniture market segment of the furniture industry in Nigeria. It imports semi-finished components for full assembly and sale to the local market. The company employs over 45 staff and annual turnover is about N 300 million. The Chair Centre holds the exclusive distribution franchise of Sokoa Chair in Nigeria.

Sokoa SA, France
Sokoa commenced operations in 1971 with the production of 3,000 office chairs annually, a turnover of € 0.3 million and 4 technical staff. Currently, the company produces 550,000 office chairs annually, with a turnover of € 32 million and 230 technical staff directly and over 2,000 indirectly. The company is currently the number one office chair manufacturer in France, after acquiring a majority stake in Eurosit, the third largest office chair manufacturer in France.

The French High Commission
The efforts of the French High Commission, especially the commercial section in support of the project must be acknowledged. The High Commission’s help, support and encouragement has been of immense value towards the realization of the Sokoa Chair Centre project. The granting of visas to 5 members of staff for 3 months training at Sokoa Headquarters in Hendaye, France must also be acknowledged and applauded.
